From Horses to Sound Healing: A Reflection on Compassion

Updated: Nov 1

As November’s powerful Supermoon approaches, the topic of compassion compassion for oneself, for each other, and for all animals – has been coming up for me.

Compassion is what reconnects us with our own hearts, the space where empathy, forgiveness and love live. It’s also what unites us with one another and with the animals who share this planet with us.

Just a day before, on Tuesday, Australia once again turns its attention to the Melbourne Cup – a spectacle many see as a celebration, yet one that also reflects how easily animal wellbeing can be forgotten for entertainment and profit.

If you know me or have followed me on Instagram, you’ll know that for the past eleven years, I’ve worked for an animal welfare organization, protecting horses and other animals, managing two horse sanctuaries. Here, I’ve witnessed firsthand the realities of animal suffering – and, with that, the absence of human compassion.

Those experiences have shown me something profound: that true change – for ourselves, for humanity, and for animals – begins in the heart.

And that’s what led me, after almost two decades on the yoga path, to begin holding sound healings eight years ago. Because when people reconnect with their hearts, they rediscover their natural compassion – not as a concept, but as a living force that transforms how we relate to ourselves, to each other, to all animals – and to life itself.

Next Wednesday, I invite you to join me under the Supermoon to breathe, to soften, to listen, to connect with your pure essence, your soul, and to awaken that deep compassion within – for yourself, for each other and for all animals.

This Supermoon carries an energy of expansion and illumination – a perfect time to open your heart wider, to embody gentleness and compassion, and to strengthen that quiet force within us that naturally extends kindness to all beings.

If you feel the call to reconnect with your heart, to breathe deeply, and to be immersed in sound that helps you remember who you truly are, join my Breathwork & Sound Healing events in or book a private 1:1 session in my treatment room in Bondi.
