Reflections on ANZAC Day in Complex Times: Holding Space for What We Carry

Yesterday morning, the ANZAC Day dawn service was happening right at my doorstep in North Bondi.
There’s something undeniably powerful about it – the stillness before sunrise, the collective energy, being there together with the community, with connected hearts, all commemorating the same thing.
And yet I wasn’t sure if I should go.
While I wanted to pay my respects to the fallen, I also noticed a quiet tension within me.
In a world where war isn’t just history but very present, I found myself reflecting on what remembrance really means in times like these, and how we honour without losing sight of the reality of ongoing wars in the world.
I sat with that for a while. And in the end, I went. With my best friend. To pay my respects. To honour what is to be honoured.
Not with certainty, but with awareness. And maybe that’s the point.
Not everything needs to be resolved. Some things are meant to be felt in their complexity.
And what stayed with me was this: the importance of pausing.
Of allowing space for what we carry – individually and collectively.
Because so much of what is happening in the world doesn’t just stay “out there”.
It lives in our bodies, in our nervous systems, in subtle ways we often don’t even notice.
This Saturday’s Full Moon feels like a continuation of that pause. I'm hosting a Full Moon Breathwork & Sound Healing event the night before, on Friday, at Bondi Pavilion. A space to slow down. To soften. To come back into yourself.
Through breathwork and sound, I‘ll create the conditions for your system to move out of stress and into a state where things can settle, integrate and realign.
If you’ve been feeling the weight of things – even quietly – this space is for you ✨
